Holly is the Assistant Director of Instructional Design for the School of Life Sciences at Arizona State University, where she leads the Teaching and Learning Center. This team of embedded instructional designers supports faculty through instructional coaching, course design, and professional development. The TLC promotes evidence-based teaching practices across modalities with a strong focus on accessible and inclusive learning experiences that foster student belonging, persistence, and success.
Since joining ASU in 2022 as a Learning Technology Specialist, Holly has contributed to university-wide efforts to reimagine learning environments in alignment with the ASU Charter. With a strong interest in TA professional development, she teaches BIO 530: Scientific Teaching and serves on ASU's CIRTL Steering Committee.
Holly brings a dynamic background to her work, with a career that spans K-12 education, online curriculum design, and professional development. Her early experiences as a teacher-librarian shaped her approach to instructional design, emphasizing pedagogy, inquiry, and adaptability. She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Technology and graduate certificates in Instructional Design and e-Learning. She is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Higher Ed Leadership and an additional graduate certificate in Organizational Leadership at Rockhurst University, with anticipated completion in 2026.
A strong advocate for active learning, accessibility, and the purposeful use of emerging technologies, Holly collaborates with faculty to design meaningful learning experiences that prepare students to thrive in the classroom and beyond.
