Upham is an eco-evolutionary biologist with core interests in how species ecologies have diversified through time and across the tree of life. He studies the phylogenetic ecology of wild mammals, especially desert rodents.

Dr. Brewington is a Research Professor and Senior Global Futures Scholar, who co-leads the Pacific RISA climate adaptation research program in Hawaii and the US-Affiliated Pacific Islands. She is based in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Interests in trophic dynamics, energy distributions, and biodiversity. Current work is utilizing global remote sensing techniques to study the interconnectedness of terrestrial, coastal, and oceanic landscapes.
