Biographical note – Professor Jay Cooper Beeks is an instructor at Arizona State University (ASU) in the School of Sustainability, undergraduate SOS program and the Masters in Sustainable Leadership (MSL) program.

With a research emphasis in applied ecology, Lewis' research incorporates the principles of wildlife biology, landscape ecology, and conservation biology.

Gómez-Morales studies innovative ways of providing skills training interventions to caregivers of people with dementia using virtual reality.

Within AzCATI, Weiss researches the engineering of large-scale algae consortia for carbon capture and sustainable bioproduction. As ERM faculty, he educates on toxicological management and water treatment technologies.

Maricarmen Vizcaino uses interdisciplinary approaches to design and implement interventions promoting human and planetary health. Her newest research focuses on heat adaptation and mitigation within the Hispanic community.

Meerow combines the disciplines of geography and urban planning as she researches how to make cities more resilient in the face of climate change as well as other social and environmental hazards.

Sara El-Sayed is the outreach coordinator for the Arizona Transition to Organic Partnership Program. She does research in Swette's two focal areas of "power of deliciousness" and "wisdom of Indigenous foodways".
