Marie Lawrence is the Administrative Director and Chief of Staff at the School of Life Sciences. She directs the administrative, personnel and financial functions of a large science school within The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and is responsible for overseeing and controlling unit budgets, providing leadership and direction to unit managers (business operations, personnel/HR, facilities, research, communications, graduate and undergraduate programs) building and maintaining a culture of collaboration and professional service in support of ASU's Charter and Design Aspirations.
She has held positions that support strategic planning and leadership in the School of Molecular Sciences, the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences, Mary Lu Fulton Teachers College, W.P. Carey School of Business and Barrett, The Honors College.
Additionally, Lawrence had fruitful careers in law office administration and business ownership prior to coming to Arizona and ASU. A life-long learner, she focuses on achievement by utilizing effective strategic planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to yield successful outcomes.
