Trained as a scientist, Andrea spent most of her career working as an environmental scientist and became an “accidental project manager” in the process. Over the years, she gained experience and training in project management and now holds a PMP certification. She currently works as the Project Manager Research for the Global Center for Technology Transfer. She previously served as the Web Project Manager for the Knowledge Enterprise Operations PMO and worked collaboratively with the Marketing and Communications and Web Services teams in this role to improve processes, which helped the team double output year over year.
Andrea’s additional roles at ASU include Program Manager Research for the Global Locust Initiative as well as roles in Research Advancement. Through these positions, Andrea gained experience in the life cycle of grants, from proposal development to award implementation, and in program development and program management of a research center with over $3M in grant funds.
In volunteer efforts, Andrea served as the President of the Arizona State University (ASU) Project Management Network, a faculty and staff organization that serves over 700 members across ASU. Through this position, she provided vision and direction for a team of two dozen board members, helped plan the ASU PM Summit, and fostered internal and external collaborations as well as member engagement. She currently serves as an Advisor to the PM Network.
