Trained as a scientist, Andrea spent most of her career working as an environmental scientist and became an “accidental project manager” in the process. Over the years, she gained experience and training in project management and now holds a PMP certification. She currently works as the Web Project Manager for the Knowledge Enterprise Operations PMO and has worked collaboratively with the Marketing and Communications and Web Services teams in this role to improve processes and significantly increase output in the past year.
Previously, she was the Program Manager Research for the Global Locust Initiative and had roles in Research Advancement as well. Through these roles, Andrea gained experience in the life cycle of grants, from proposal development to award implementation, and in program development and program management of a research center with over $3M in grant funds.
In volunteer efforts, Andrea recently served as the President of the Arizona State University (ASU) Project Management Network, a faculty and staff organization that serves over 700 members across ASU. Through this position, she provided vision and direction for a team of two dozen board members, helped plan the ASU PM Summit, and fostered internal and external collaborations as well as member engagement. She currently serves as an Advisor to the PM Network.
