Professor Burnton has a passion for macro social work and teaches courses pertaining to social policy, leadership, and administration. Her teaching is embedded in a strength-based approach with graduate and undergraduate students at the Downtown, West, and online campuses.
Her background includes more than three decades working in Arizona government, nonprofit, hospital and social justice organizations on administration, public policies and human service issues pertaining to children, youth and families.
