Research Interests
My research is situated at the intersection of conservation biology, philosophy of science, and Indigenous methodologies. In particular, I'm interested in how actionable conservation knowledge is produced across the boundary between scientific and indigenous communities. I take into account the ecology, ontology, agency, and value of organisms that are of interest to both groups, and how differences in knowledge claims come to bear on the co-production of conservation knowledge. The goal of my research is produce a model for conservation biology that is more holistic and collaborative than those currently obtaining while preserving the epistemological integrity of each group's knowledge claims.
