Long Bio
Amy serves as the Senior Instructional Designer for Arizona State University's School of Life Sciences Teaching and Learning Center, where she leads initiatives to enhance teaching effectiveness and student learning. Drawing on over 20 years of experience in education, she uses design-thinking principles to empower faculty through innovative instructional design, professional development opportunities, formative observations, and instructional coaching cycles.
Amy teaches graduate-level courses at ASU in Scientific Teaching, an approach to course and lesson design that applies the qualities essential for successful scientific research to education. Throughout her career, she has supported a wide spectrum of learners and educational professionals, including K-12 students, undergraduate and graduate students, community members, and faculty.
As a doctoral student in Educational Leadership and Innovation at ASU, Amy's research explores strategies to strengthen faculty teaching self-efficacy, with the goal of improving student engagement, persistence, and belonging. Her work aims to enrich the educational experience for both instructors and students by fostering trust, equity, and meaningful connections in learning environments.
