I earned my B.S. in Biology from the University of South Dakota and an M.S. in Plant Biology from ASU under Dr. Donald J. Pinkava. I work full time at the ASU Downtown campus as the instructional lab manager overseeing our 100+ undergraduate lab instructors who teach biology, chemistry, biochemistry, anatomy & physiology, organic chemistry, microbiology, and physics. I also teach Botany, Biology, and Environmental Science as an adjunct professor at Maricopa Community Colleges.

MS Plant Biology, 2001, Arizona State University (areas of specialization: plant morphology, taxonomy, and floristics)
My PhD research interests are in the evolution of flowering plants and the floristics of a Miocene fossil site in Yakima Canyon, WA. I'm passionate about natural history collections and about biology education, especially in promoting foundational biology curricula in the natural sciences such as basic ecology, botany, and zoology.
