Ashlee Head-Poulter

Ashlee has been teaching at ASU since the Fall of 2019. Before coming to ASU, she worked as a STEM Coordinator for Tutoring Services where she hired and trained student tutors and supplemental instruction leaders. Ashlee's teaching philosophy is student-centered learning: teaching empathy, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence. As an educator, Ashlee designs her curriculum with the intention of meeting individual student needs through community building in the classroom. Ashlee has worked in student support for over 10 years, serving hundreds of students by developing academic support and peer mentoring programs and designing curriculum to meet the needs of at-risk students. As an instructor at ASU, she teaches students to apply problem-solving skills as a practice for their future personal and professional goals. The best part of teaching is watching the confidence in her students as they acquire a sense of belonging, purpose, and resilience.

Ashlee is an avid reader and will read every women's fiction/nonfiction book she can find. She's a dedicated exerciser, IMDB trivia guru, and Halloween enthusiast. She loves the Arizona desert and enjoys exploring with her partner, Brandon, and their two kids.
