Susan B. Racette, PhD, is a Professor of Movement Sciences and of Nutrition in the College of Health Solutions at Arizona State University. She studies the metabolic influences of dietary interventions and exercise training on cardiovascular health, cognitive health, and aging. Dr. Racette's research includes the evaluation of long-term calorie restriction and time-restricted eating interventions to optimize healthspan, exercise interventions to delay age-related physiological decline, cardiac rehabilitation programs to optimize recovery after a cardiac event or procedure, and lifestyle modification programs to enhance cardiorespiratory fitness and metabolic health at all ages.
Dr. Racette earned her PhD in Nutritional Biology at the University of Chicago and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Exercise Physiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. She was a Professor at Washington University School of Medicine until 2022, when she joined the ASU faculty. She maintains strong collaborations with investigators nationwide and worldwide and is passionate about mentoring students, postdoctoral fellows, and early-stage investigators.
