Long Bio
Mohsen is a PhD student at Arizona State University and a Senior Global Futures Scientist in the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Futures Laboratory. He works with Prof. Marco Janssen at the Center for Behavior, Institutions, and the Environment. Mohsen's research interests lie at the intersection of politics, economics, water, and the environment. He defines this intersection as a complex system and uses a wide range of computational and mathematical models based on complexity theory to study and understand it. He has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences, as well as a book chapter.
As an engineer, Mohsen believes that most of the current complex challenges in the path to sustainable development from local to global scale do not have a purely engineering/technological solution, but the solution should be sought in their social dimension. Therefore, he tries to focus a major part of his research on computational social sciences. He has begun his academic journey in Iran, his homeland, and after earning a master's degree from the University of Tehran, he has come to the United States to further his studies and research. The result of his research efforts can contribute to making the world a better place for current and future generations.
