Andrew is an environmental chemist whose work focuses on environmental quality, encompassing analysis and monitoring of air, water, soil and sediments, with a focus on environmental and human health. He is an Associate Scientist at ASU BIOS in Bermuda and is also the ASU BIOS Director of Education for University Programs.
He is the PI for the ASU BIOS Tudor Hill Marine Atmospheric Observatory, ideally located in Bermuda for sampling and making measurements of the marine atmospheric boundary layer. He also provides environmental consulting and monitoring services to the Government of Bermuda, including ambient air quality and water quality monitoring.
Andrew received his PhD from the University of Southampton, UK, where he studied polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in seasonal snow cover. Andrew was a postdoctoral fellow at the National Water Research Institute in Canada and then had research appointments at the Universities of Reading and Lancaster in the UK. Prior to joining ASU BIOS he was a research scientist at the UK's NERC Centre for Ecology and Hydrology.
