Long Bio
Alysa serves as Program Coordinator Sr. of YE Community Engagement. Her position assists in planning, developing, and delivering content related to youth engagement opportunities. This includes ASU collaboration, corporate partnerships, new programs, signature offerings, and support for the communities we serve within the J. Orin Edson Entrepreneurship + Innovation Institute.
Prior to her role at Edson E+I, Alysa served as a seventh grade English and math teacher in the Alhambra School District in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area. Additionally, Alysa has served learners overseas in South Korea, where she lived and taught for seven years after her undergraduate degree. Her love for reading led her to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with a minor in Writing, from Saint Martin's University. Her work with international students abroad further inspired her to seek out her Master's of Education overseas.
Entrepreneurship has a range of definitions and personal importance to everyone. When asked what Entrepreneurship meant to her, Alysa said, "Entrepreneurship means the drive or motivation one intrinsically has to better themselves and the world around them through innovation and out of the box thinking. Entrepreneurship is more than business mindedness, it is a personality type; a personality type that creates social change, and that is never satisfied with status quo."
