Paul Kei Matsuda is Professor of English and Director of Second Language Writing. He has published widely on issues related to language, writing, identity, mentoring, and professional development.

Most of James work is with the MA and PhD programs in linguistics and applied linguistics, master's and certificate programs in TESOL, and BA (linguistics major).

ASU alum amy dawn shinabarger is a Freirian committed to changing the world and empowering students through teaching as social practice. Her research focuses on the places in which language and power intersect.

Myles is the author of "African American Women's Narratives of Enslavement: Beyond Borders" and co-editor of "Sapphire's Literary Breakthrough."

Dr. Valerie Fazel teaches composition and literature for ASU's Department of English.

Beaudrie teaches graduate courses in second and heritage language pedagogy and bilingualism. She is also the lead faculty for the PhD track in heritage language pedagogy and research.

Vargas has taught courses in photography, silkscreen, Spanish language, culture, and literature.
