Italian by birth and passionate about the language and culture of her native country, Chiara Dal Martello has taught Italian language and culture courses at Arizona State since 1996. Dal Martello is highly motivated to help students develop cultural awareness through language, experience, and exploration. Dal Martello has a bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Urbino and a doctorate in rhetoric and linguistics from Arizona State University. She co-authored "Ciao!" an Italian language and culture introductory textbook. Dal Martello is continually envisioning new courses for ASU students, with topics as varied as migration and film, food and culture, and natural disasters and resilience.
