Tracy Alvarado-Greenhow is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University. Her work focuses on educator preparation through clinically grounded instruction, reflective practice, and sustained support for future teachers.
With 29 years of experience in education, Tracy has taught across diverse K–12 settings in Arizona and Nevada, including bilingual early childhood and elementary classrooms, dual-language Spanish immersion, instruction for monolingual English learners, and middle school mathematics. She is fluent in Spanish and has extensive experience supporting second-language development and culturally responsive teaching.
At ASU, Tracy works with undergraduate teacher candidates providing supervision, coaching, and instructional guidance in partnership with K–12 schools. She supports interns in clinically embedded mathematics courses, emphasizing the connection between mathematical content, instructional strategies, and classroom practice. Her work prioritizes instructional coherence, effective mentoring, and equitable support across traditional student teaching placements and emerging models.
Tracy also contributes to college-wide initiatives that promote collaboration and innovation. She serves as Co-Chair of the Principled Innovation CORE Affinity Group and engages in curriculum development, course refinement, and professional learning aimed at strengthening student experiences and program coherence.
