Coon designs and evaluates interventions, such as CarePRO and EPIC, that focus on culturally diverse groups of midlife and older adults facing chronic illnesses (dementia, cancer, depression) and family caregivers.

Dr. Jurutka is an endocrinologist applying molecular medicine approaches to elucidate fundamental questions in human health/disease including work on: nutraceuticals, cancer, IBS, RXR drug discovery, and neurobiology of vitamin D.

Ros is a faculty member of SMS and the Center for Applied Structural Discovery at ASU's Biodesign Institute. Her current research interests include bioanlalytics in the micro- and nanoenvironment.

Dr. Mastroeni's current research is examining genetic ( Mom & Dad) and epigenetic (environmental) changes within single classes of cells in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease by laser capture microdissection (LCM).

Dr. Cook-Deegan's research interests include science policy, health policy, biomedical research, cancer and intellectual property.

Velazquez's research interests include identifying novel therapeutic targets for neurodegenerative disorders such as Down Syndrome, Alzheimer's disease and the tauopathies.

As part of the Velazquez Lab in Biodesign's Neurodegenerative Disease Research Center, I am investigating mechanisms of basal forebrain cholinergic neuron alteration in Down syndrome and Alzheimer's disease.
