Ponce's current interest is in the understanding of the materials properties of III-V nitrides, and their correlation to growth and to device performance for solid state lighting.

Dr. Peng's expertise is in computational physics (first principles density-functional theory calculations) and material science.

Timmes is an astrophysicist in interested in stars, chemical evolution, astrobiology, gamma-ray astronomy and community-driven software instruments.

Dr. Flory has an interdisciplinary background with a BS in physics, seven years industry experience, and a PhD in biological design. He works with faculty to develop proposals and manages 2 DOE and 1 NSF funded projects.

Gerdenis Kodis is a retired research faculty with a joint appointment in the Department of Physics and the Biodesign Institute at ASU. He works in the fields of artificial photosynthesis, molecular photonics, and biophysics.
