Allison Ellsworth

Allison Ellsworth is an instructor in the School of Applied Professional Studies (APS) in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts (CISA) on the Polytechnic Campus. She teaches courses in the Techinical Writing and Communications and Organizational Leadership programs. Dr. Ellsworth focuses on engineering communication. Prior to the formation of the School of Applied Professional Studies, she taught First-Year Composition in addition to the courses she teaches in APS, led the composition faculty from 2018-2022, and taught courses in the Interdisciplinary Studies and Liberal Studies programs.

Dr. Ellsworth completed her EdD in Leadership and Innovation in the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College.  Her dissertation research focused on teaching First-Year Composition courses to engineering undergraduates using embodied learning methods and differentiated active learning activities. She is continuing that research in her classroom teaching at ASU as an action researcher. 

Dr. Ellsworth is also a community volunteer in central Mesa.  She enjoys gardening and academic writing, and she is always looking forward to learning new things.
