Dr. Pettigrew has dedicated his scholarship to promoting healthy relationships for youth, families, and society. His work has an international scope, interdisciplinary bent, and aims for social impact. Projects involve designing, delivering, and evaluating health interventions through partnerships with communities in the United States and especially in Latin America and the Caribbean. He has published books, chapters, and peer-reviewed articles that advance understanding of parent-child drug talks, social processes that impact intervention effects, and real-world dissemination and implementation. Current work focuses on reaching families with intervention materials in ways that are effective and scalable.
