Long Bio
Madison Landin is a Master's student in Biology. For her Master's degree, Madison is researching the effectiveness of net illumination as a bycatch reduction technology in the estuarine ecosystems of Jalisco, Mexico with the Senko Lab for Marine Megafauna and Fisheries Conservation. Further research experiences Madison has gained with this lab include assessing fisher attitudes toward bycatch reduction technologies and the framing of sea turtles and plastic pollution in popular newsmedia.
Beyond ASU, Madison has fieldwork experience through internships with Arizona Game and Fish Department and the Southwest Audubon. Madison additionally has a wide variety of volunteering experiences, including as a longstanding member of the Liberty Wildlife Daily Care and Mammal teams working to care for and rehabilitate injured, ill, and orphaned wildlife.
