Dr. Drummond is a Clinical Associate Professor at the W P Carey School of Business at Arizona State University since 2018 and the John W. Teets Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award winner 2023. He has served as Faculty Council member, Faculty Hiring Committee Member and Executive Connections Leader, an initiative bringing together 60+ CEOs and Full Time MBA Students. He was also one of the leaders in charge of creating the first Innovation Masters in the US, the so called MSIVD - Master's in Innovation & Venture Development, a program taught in collaboration between three schools (the Ira Fulton Schools of Engineering, the Herberger Institute for Design & the Arts, the W P Carey School of Business). 30+ years of teaching experience, of which more than 20+ years were spent teaching executive education in leading business schools and universities, Dr. Drummond has won multiple teaching excellence awards and has hold C-Level positions as President, CEO, Rector, Dean and Executive Director. An original partner and Board Member of the Anima Educational Group Brazil (Sao Paulo Stock Exchange, ANIM3, Brazil), he was a Visiting Associate Professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, SAR, China. He figures as founding partner and Executive Director of Rivadavia & Associates working with world-class organizations such as Astra Zeneca, Mastercard, HSBC, Citibank, Bradesco, GM, Eli Lilly, Petrobras Ford, Bank of the West/BNP Paribas, Nissan and IBM, among others. Dr. Drummond was a post-doctoral fellow and visiting scholar at the University of Toronto, Canada, in 2009, holds (1) a PhD in Information Studies, I-School from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), in which he had his PhD Dissertation nominated for the award “Best Brazilian Dissertation in the field”, (2) a MsC in Information Studies, I-School, from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), (3) an MBA in International Business, from the Catholic University of Minas Gerais and (4) a bachelor’s degree in Business from the Federal University of Minas Gerais. His latest book "Making Innovation Work" was recently published in Brazil and figures among the best selling business books since 2018. He's currently an Independent Board of Directors Member of Vitru LTD (Nasdaq), serving at the Audit Committee and as Head of the Innovation & Academic Committee. A mentor for founders and C-Suite executives, Dr. Drummond is highly demanded for keynotes and other speaking engagements. He has lived and worked overseas in Asia, Europe, South & North America. As for Community Outreach & Services, Dr. Drummond is also a Board of Directors Member/Mentor for the OVO Orchestra (Orquestra de Formacao e Transformacao), a NGO set to provide music education for poor aspiring young musicians not served by traditional schools in Brazil. During the outset of the COVID 19 pandemic, he worked as a volunteer at the State Farm Stadium vaccination site for Handson of Greater Phoenix.
