Dr. Ivan Edwards DO, FAAPMR, FRSA (Lt Col USAF Reserves) is a board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation medical doctor and a fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. He is also the CEO and founder of Jovana Rehabilitation Medicine and Pain PLLC. He treats patients who have sustained trauma, have injuries, muscle, nerve, and bone-related issues such as muscle pain, strokes, neuropathy, low back pain, and arthritis. His practice focuses on neurorehabilitation and comprehensive pain management.
Besides his medical career, Dr. Edwards is a USAF flight surgeon at the military rank of lieutenant colonel. He was also awarded a commission of a Kentucky colonelcy, by the Governor of Kentucky for his service to the state and nation (a historical tradition that dates back as early as 1775).
Dr. Edwards’ mission in life is dedicated to service. He co-launched, in the 1990s, a child sponsorship program for disadvantaged children in Uganda. As director of two acute rehabilitation facilities, in San Antonio, Texas, from 2013 through 2017, he ran rehabilitation programs for people with neuro-degenerative disorders. From 2017 to the current time, he has integrated care for veterans in various hospital settings in Texas.
To date, he conducts community wide symposiums on resilience--as a firm commitment to pay back to the community through service.
