Katie Haltorp, M.Ed. is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation (MLFC) Division for Advancing Educator Preparation at Arizona State University. She earned a dual major in Elementary Education and Special Education from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University.
Professor Haltorp has over twenty-three years of experience teaching special education in the Gilbert Public Schools district. Her professional work includes piloting a specialized special education curriculum that contributed research data supporting the use of targeted instructional programs for students with learning differences. She currently serves as the Area Lead for Special Education programs and the Online Program Coordinator for Special Education. Her work focuses on preparing future educators with strong foundations in special education supports, collaboration, and special education law.
