Mrs. Katie Haltorp is currently a Clinical Assistant professor in the MLFTC Professional Pathways program. Professor Haltorp earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a dual major in Elementary Education and Special Education. She continued her education at Northern Arizona University, earning a Master's in Elementary Education. Professor Haltorp taught special education classes in the Gilbert Public Schools district for twenty-three years. Professor Haltorp piloted a special education curriculum that provided research data to support the use of specialized curricula with students with learning differences. She serves as an Area Lead for Special Education programs. Professor Haltorp works in partnership with Mesa Public Schools' Path2Teach program to teach and support ASU students seeking special education master's degrees/teacher certifications. She is dedicated to preparing teachers who understand special education supports, collaboration, and laws.
