Mrs. Katie Haltorp is currently a Clinical Assistant professor in the MLFTC Professional Pathways program. Mrs. Haltorp earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a dual major in Elementary Education and Special Education. She continued her education at Northern Arizona University, earning a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. Mrs. Haltorp taught special education classes in the Gilbert Public Schools district for twenty-three years. Mrs. Haltorp piloted a special education curriculum that provided research data to support the use of specialized curricula with students with learning differences. Mrs. Haltorp serves as an Area Lead for Special Education Programs. Mrs. Haltorp currently works in partnership with Mesa Public Schools to teach and support ASU students seeking special education degrees/certifications. She is dedicated to preparing teachers who understand special education supports, collaboration, and laws.
