Shanesha Brooks is a committed professional with a firm educational foundation. She holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Arizona State University (ASU) and a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern California (USC), where she specialized in social change and innovation. Her academic pursuits laid the groundwork for a career focused on empowerment through education, consulting, and developing impactful programs.
Throughout her career, Shanesha has been deeply involved in workforce development, dedicating herself to establishing services for community members seeking to enhance their skills and employment opportunities. She aims to support unique talent in unlocking their potential and guiding them toward rewarding careers by fostering genuine connections and building strong relationships.
Shanesha came to ASU under ASU's Career Services, where she worked closely with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Here, she organized career-focused events and skillfully integrated career exploration into the academic curriculum. This initiative helped students recognize the vast array of career paths, moving beyond the confines of conventional choices.
As the Program Manager for the ASU SUNlite Coaching Program, sponsored by the Office of the President, Shanesha plays a pivotal role. She collaborates with various stakeholders, including executives and directors from different departments across ASU, such as Enterprise Technology, the Office of Human Resources, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Office of Business and Finance, the General Counsel, and the Office of the Government & Community Engagement. In this role, Shanesha coordinates training for SUNlite Coaches, who learn from subject matter experts on how to support fellow ASU employees on a journey towards self-discovery, uncovering possibilities, nurturing growth in their experiences, and positively impacting ASU.
