Crystal (Gustavson) Miller has leveraged her marketing and communications skills in a variety of industries. She began her career working on several successful political campaigns, including campaigns to elect Arizona Sen. John McCain. She honed her digital marketing skills at agencies such as RIESTER and LaneTerralever, then formed her own agency, Fluent, out of a desire to help small businesses navigate the new territory of social media marketing.
After these experiences, she returned to her maroon and gold roots in 2010 to join ASU as the Alumni Association's Digital Media Manager, where she developed and implemented engaging communications strategies. She also served as Online Editor for ASU Magazine, developing a digital presence for the university's largest print publication.
In 2013, Crystal joined ASU's Office of the University Provost as Assistant Director of Student-Centric Communications where she was tasked with designing and implementing sustainable processes, tools and educational programs that will result in coordinated, timely, relevant and effective communication with ASU students to drive their academic success and satisfaction with the university. Crystal was promoted in 2017 to Associate Director of Student Success Innovations within ASU's Office of the University Provost and then Director of the department in 2022 where she is fostering a responsive student-centric culture that focuses on balancing technology and touch in achieving student success.
Crystal earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science and Public Policy in 2003, as well as a master's degree in Communications and Media Studies in 2014 from Arizona State University.
