Dr. Sharon Link Wyer is an interdisciplinary scholar-practitioner, Instructor of Organizational Leadership at Arizona State University, organizational leadership strategist, executive coach, and learning experience leader whose work exists at the intersection of leadership, psychology, organizational systems, and transformational learning. With a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies and a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology, Dr. Link Wyer brings an integrated perspective to leadership, organizational effectiveness, change management, workforce transformation, and human development within complex adaptive systems.
In addition to teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in organizational leadership, organizational change, and the future of work at Arizona State University, Dr. Link Wyer currently serves as a Senior Learning Leader and Organizational Effectiveness Lead within the healthcare sector, supporting enterprise-wide learning and transformation initiatives across hundreds of care centers and thousands of associates nationwide. Her work focuses on translating organizational strategy into scalable learning ecosystems that strengthen leadership capability, support workforce transformation, improve operational execution, and enhance organizational performance. She has led and supported more than 100 enterprise initiatives related to leadership development, change management, workforce readiness, digital transformation, value-based care, and organizational effectiveness.
Her expertise includes organizational leadership, leadership identity development, adult learning strategy, psychological resilience, executive coaching, systems thinking, organizational culture, and the psychology of ambiguity. She is particularly interested in how individuals and organizations navigate uncertainty, disruption, identity transitions, and prolonged complexity in rapidly changing environments.
As an Instructor at Arizona State University, Dr. Link Wyer is known for designing immersive, research-driven learning experiences that integrate systems thinking, behavioral science, leadership theory, and real-world organizational application. Her doctoral research focused on ambiguous loss in disaster recovery, examining how mental health professionals conceptualize and respond to chronic uncertainty, unresolved grief, identity disruption, and meaning reconstruction following disaster events. This work integrates concepts from psychology, trauma studies, resilience research, and organizational systems theory, reflecting her broader scholarly interest in how individuals and institutions function under conditions of ambiguity and prolonged disruption.
Dr. Link Wyer is also an accomplished instructional designer, speaker, and organizational consultant with experience spanning healthcare, higher education, workforce learning, leadership development, and enterprise transformation. Throughout her career, she has partnered with organizations across multiple industries to design leadership systems, develop learning strategies, strengthen organizational capability, and support transformational change initiatives.
