Michael Hacker is the Information Security Officer for Arizona State University's Knowledge Enterprise. He holds the Communications Chair on the Board of Directors for the Arizona chapter of InfraGard—a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Department of Homeland Security, and the Public Sector—which protects U.S. Critical Infrastructure by promoting best practices, security awareness and training, community outreach, and the exchange of information between law enforcement and infrastructure owners and operators.
Michael is a military veteran, intelligence analyst, martial artist, guitarist, writer, teacher, linguist, and polyglot (Japanese, Russian, French, German, and Mandarin Chinese so far). He is the author of The Language of Aikido: A Practitioner’s Guide to Japanese Characters and Terminology, an Amazon #1 best seller in the Japanese and Martial Arts categories. He spends his free time teaching Japanese martial arts at the Renshinkan, giving his dogs Chibi Habibi and Kenji the Dingaroo all the scratches, plinking away on various guitars, attempting to write music, studying languages, writing, and improving his Offensive Security skills.
